Lincoln's B-day

In the days leading up to Lincoln's Birthday Zach asked Lincoln if he was excited about his upcoming birthday. Lincoln's response: "I think Mom's more excited than I am." What?! Sheesh, when did he become a teenager?
Well, I was excited about it, but that's because he's my little boy and someone has to get excited about these things!
Lincoln's birthday was two-staged. I'd been asking him for some time if he wanted a big birthday party with friends and his answer was no- just one with Mom, Dad, Gwen, Ned and himself. That's Lincoln alright- he got those anti-social leanings from both his father and mother-poor kid! So, what we settled on was a combined birthday party with other cousins whose birthdays also fall in June. Then on his actual birthday we had the requested small birthday party at the end of the day after a special birthday breakfast and the same for lunch.
Happy Birthday Lincoln!

Sunday Pics

So I feel like I can breathe a little more. There were some changes in our ward that included Zach being called into the bishopric, necessitating my releasing as Primary President. I was pretty sad to be released, but also kind of relieved because I'll have more time to focus on my own family- which is the whole reason for my being released. I'll still hang around Primary as much as they'll let me--those kids just have such an energy and spirit with them- I like being with them. Since I don't feel like I need to spend my Sunday afternoon on my calling, I'm finally blogging again.
Life is good for us in the Hills' household. Lincoln recently celebrated his fourth birthday and has discovered he LOVES swimming aka jumping into the 3ft. deep section of the pool. Now, if only I weren't terrified of taking three little kids to the pool all by myself, we'd go more often. Instead, we'll have to take family trips on Saturdays.

Gwen is now potty trained and has been doing great! Back to one kid in diapers again. She was really ready for it and I was finally ready to make it happen.

Ned is sitting up! I love it when they make it to each new stage. He's such a little sweetie and smiles very easily. Gwen can make him crack up laughing and he loves to watch both Lincoln and Gwen play. While he's not a perfect baby by any means (I'm well aware that that doesn't exist), he's more like a textbook baby- doing all the things they say babies are supposed to do.

Zach is "anxiously engaged" in many good things, work, his calling, cycling and us, not necessarily in that order or limited to that list. He's been giving some big presentations more frequently to large audiences at work on the project he's working on- the third intake project. I vaguely understand it, but it's been a good thing for him.

And I'm busy enough being mom to my three adorable children.
