Take a Look at That Shiner!

Achieved in his first attempt to climb one of the bar stools. He somehow succeeded in knocking over the stool and hitting another chair on his way down. I was only about a foot away when it all happened and didn't see anything but a blur as he tumbled.
He bit his tongue, bloodied his nose, and managed to get a lump on both the back and front of his head.
He is consequently very afraid of falling off of anything, even the bed.
Today at church while everyone inquired about his eye, only one person mentioned CPS.

Fourth of July Celebrations

Yes, I'm aware this is way late, but I have to post this for posterity(i.e. our blog book).
We had a very busy 4th this year.
It started early with a 7:30am flag raising ceremony breakfast put on by our ward.
Then we went out to good 'ole BC for my 10 year H.S. reunion-which was nice-if not extremely nostalgic, I'm glad I went.
After that it was back to my parent's where we had some water events as no one in my family has a pool. We had a slip n' slide set up and a ton of water balloons filled and ready.
Following our water games was a fabulous BBQ and watching the annual fireworks show from my parents balcony.
We headed for home at about 10pm, but didn't actually get there until 12am (even though it's typically just a 30 min. drive) due to an accident. So, overall a long and busy and fun day!
Another year come and gone to celebrate this great nation.

Half-a-Year Already!

My beauty is 6-months!

She sometimes is called precious, beautiful, or Gwyneth- by me

She is an amazingly happy baby--even during the period of time when she was hardly sleeping at all.
She's not completely "healed" when it comes to sleeping, but she is doing MUCH better. She'll take naps with less struggle and she sleeps pretty well at night.

She is definitely a girl. She has extreme emotions-when she's happy--she's REALLY happy. When she's upset, she's REALLY mad. It's fun.

Zach and I are often struck by what a sweet spirit she has--there's just something about her that emanates sweetness. I suppose we'll see if we're reading her correctly as she grows up. Although, with the name she has (Zach's grandma's name) she has a lot to live up to.

She loves her brother, her mother and her father very much (we think). She's always ready with a smile for anyone.

She is so fun!! I love having a girl- even if I'm not very girly myself!
