We woke up early Saturday to hit some of the many garage sales being held. Our city will have giant garage sales every once in a while where people can come to a Rec center and have a booth for their stuff. It ends up being like a big swap meet and there can be some great deals. We went there and got tons of baby girl clothes for only $10! Some of it hadn't even been used before! Then we came home to discover that our own neighborhood was having at least 10 different garage sales. I had to hurry back to teach piano lessons and Zach took Lincoln around to some of the closer garage sales and came back with a few more treasures. I think it's now safe to say that our baby girl already has more clothes than Lincoln.
P.S. this picture only shows some of what I've been able to get at garage sales.
After our bargain shopping trips, Zach spent some time fixing the sprinklers and I helped him reseed our lawn.
We also enjoyed a visit from Mom Hills and Erin who brought two little tortoises for us to have as pets. Lincoln seemed to be a little afraid of them, but they now reside in his bathtub and he's fine with them. They look bigger than they are in the picture. They are pretty small, especially the youngest one.
*Disclaimer: These tortoises were bred in captivity and therefore do not belong in the wild. We are not breaking any laws here.
Then Saturday night, some friends from our ward invited us to go see the Conservatory at the Bellagio. It had been so long since I had done that and it was fun to get out. I felt like such a tourist snapping all sorts of pictures, but I guess I kind of am since I hardly ever go out there. For those of you who don't know, the Conservatory is this giant indoor atrium at the Bellagio casino. Every couple of months the botanists who work their re-design the entire atrium according to some new theme. The atrium is full of fake and real plants. It smells wonderful and is true eye-candy. The best thing about the place is that it's free! After that, we went over to the forum shops at Cesar's Palace and let Lincoln and our friend's little girl Aspen play at the giant toy store.
Needless to say, I slept very well last night- which actually is saying a lot since I am pregnant.

I love garage sales! I miss visiting the conservatory Maybe some day we will live close enough that we could visit again.
Garage sales are such a good idea for baby clothes. How fun to see all that pink!
Cute tortoises! We were thinking about getting one, but I guess our backyard isn't big enough for one. Travis knows a lot about tortoises, if you're looking for some info on them. He worked for a company that worked with tortoises for a summer. :)
