Zach is an engineer-as many of you know and like most engineers, he gets really excited about man-made structures. Saturday, we went out to the lake to feed the birds and fish, then figuring we were so close, we went over to the dam to see how construction on the bridge was going. As we were driving down, I quickly realized that I should have driven so Zach could stare freely out the window at the construction. As it was, I hardly dared taking my eyes off the road so I could grab the steering wheel if needed. I must say, though, that it's pretty impressive what they're doing with the dam bypass, and scary. I would hate to be one of the men working on that bridge. The construction seems to defy the laws of physics and is sooooo high, much higher than the dam. In any case, it was fun to see what's going on down there, it's been a while since I'd been down to the dam and fortunately for us, traffic was actually really good.

How fun! I can just see Zach in awe over something like that. Nikki, you look FANTASTIC!!! I hope I can pull that off after my pregnancy. It is good to see you guys are out and about after the baby, and things are going well. I can hardly wait to see Gwen on Thursday. Emery and I will be down. Gwen is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I just want to hold and squeeze her. Can't wait!
Cool pictures. Its so great to see that you guys are getting out to do fun things...I sometimes forget that it is not 10 degrees outside...EVERYWHERE...Chicago leads to such egocentrism sometimes!
