Long ago, when Gwen asked when she could get her ears pierced I thought for a minute and said, how about when you're 11. Eleven came and we were getting ready to get her ears pierced when her friend asked if she wanted to wait and do it with her. She couldn't get her ears pierced until she was 12 and she wouldn't turn 12 until April. Gwen decided to wait. She didn't seem very nervous, until we got there. Her friend Bella was even more nervous so she went first. When she got the first one pierced she was clenched up and then when the earring went through she exclaimed "Oh!" in surprise. It wasn't nearly as bad as she thought it would be. When Gwen's turn came she was pretty nervous, afterward she looked a little pale, but that only lasted a moment and then she was up perusing the earring collections there. She's growing up fast!
