Newport Coast

We just returned from another great weekend of memory-making. My parents were generous enough to invite us to stay in their villa at Newport Coast this past weekend.
We spent most of our time at the beach (Laguna) and the pool. My brother Darrin and his family were also there this year, which was great for Lincoln as he adores his older cousin Tana. This year, Lincoln didn't hate the sand as much, and was warming up to the water, which itself was pretty warm.

We...
Explored tide pools with 'dary dabs' (or "scary crabs" in Lincoln-ese).
Rode waves on boogy boards
Built and knocked down sand castles
Sampled beach sand (well, Gwen and Aiden did)
Were fortunate enough to avoid a sting ray in the surf (I guess three others were not so lucky)
Got a little sunburned
Met new people
Enjoyed the ocean breeze
Lost a little sleep (What vacation with babies and toddlers is complete without this?)
Went on walks around the resort
Played in the pool
Enjoyed some spontaneous visitors (our family friend Julie and her kids as well as my oldest brother Eric's family)
Watched a phenomenal BYU/Oklahoma game (believe it or not-it was actually Zach's idea to watch it. By the end of the game all the adults had been cheering so loud that the kids had had to go to another, quieter room.)
Ate out at The Old Spaghetti Factory on Balboa Island and ended up leaving with a sleeping child in every adult's arms- too much fun and sun.

Left early Sunday morning to make it back in time for me to fulfill my duties in my calling.

It's easy to forget how much fun the beach is! This is what pictures and blogs are for!

That made me miss the beach even more than I did already! Looks so relaxing and wonderful! I'm glad that you had fun! Whenever we make it to Vegas again, we are going to have to go to the beach!!!

Wow, looks like Heaven! One of these days or years we are goind to take Emery and Kaven to the beach! They would love it and so would we. Tim and I are still counting down for our 10 year anniversary cruise. I know it is quite a ways away but we are still excited for it, hopefully it will work out as planned! :) This just reminded me of it! Glad you had fun!
