May- June 2012

It's hard to know where to begin as it's been so long since I last posted.  I suppose I'll begin with May, although it doesn't seem like much happened in May.  The weather, as it always does, turned warm early and we pulled out our snake pool which had the kids very excited, and noisy.  Summertime is a lot of fun.  I spent much of the month sick with yet another pregnancy.  We are very excited, of course, and can hardly believe we're already pregnant with our FOURTH child! Perhaps I'll blame morning sickness for the cause of my lack of blogging.

As for the rest of May, it's all a blur, I really can't remember anything else that occurred that month.

June was a little more memorable.  We began the month with a trip up to Annabella for a Hills family reunion.  The whole reunion was very well planned by Dallas and Jodi. The theme was the Olympics and each family was their own "country" complete with a representative flag.  There were events to compete in which included mini races for the kids, croquet, table tennis, paper airplane making, pie eating, and others.  We ended up winning, although I'm not sure how.  I think it was due to the paper airplane contest that Zach really got into.  He searched for tutorials online and created some pretty nice ones.  Dallas was also very generous in her judging, owing to the fact that we had performed so poorly beforehand.  We had a great time but managed to catch the "6-hour" flue bug everyone else had already caught right at the end of our trip.  Crazily enough I think it made me pass out, at least I know I did pass out and I think that was the reason why- I'm such a weakling!  Zach caught it the day we drove home and was such a trooper in that he drove us all 5 hours home while sick because I was incapacitated, lying down in the back , sick myself.  Even with that, it was a great trip.   Our kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and their cool car/scooter-type toys.  I didn't see a whole lot of Lincoln or Gwen during that trip.  AND, none of our kids got sick- what a blessing!

Later in June, we celebrated Lincoln's 5th birthday, but our camera was MIA so all my pictures of that are in the i-phone.  I had considered and planned on throwing him a birthday party, but the 6-hour flu bug took a longer toll on me, likely because of the pregnancy.  So, by the time I started feeling decent again, his birthday was just a few days away.  We opted for taking him to a cool swimming/ activity pool, which he loved!  We even managed to get him down the big water slides a few times before the lifeguards switched and the new one said that since he didn't really know how to swim, he shouldn't be going down them anymore.  It has since served as a motivator to get him swimming.  We also had a fun little birthday party with his requested meal and cake (strawberry shortcake).
It was great and perfect for our little family!
