Fall 2021

Happy Birthday, Zach!

A successful tennis season!  Lincoln's team won State and Lincoln had a part in that.  He was one of their regular tennis-singles players.

Mom Hills was in a very serious car accident after falling asleep at the wheel on the way from Provo 2 weeks before Thanksgiving.  She was life-flighted from Fillmore to Provo and this is what remained of their truck.  We are very fortunate she is still alive.  When she fell asleep, her truck drove into the median, rolling several times and landing upside down in the fast lane of the opposite side of traffic.  She hung upside down in and out of consciousness for some time while they somehow extricated her from the vehicle, cutting the top off to get to her.  She had a large gash in her arm and the emergency responders ended up putting her arm in a tourniquet, where it stayed for quite a while.  After a scary week in the hospital, emergency surgery to address her arm, surgery to fuse some vertebrae in her neck, and a lot of prayers, she was able to leave the hospital.  She went to stay with Jodi for a while who took excellent care of her before she sent her home to recover.  At the time of writing this post, it is March and has been about 3.5 months since the accident. Last week she was able to finally remove the neck brace and be released from wound care on her arm.  She is now engaging in more intensive physical therapy.  It has been a bit of a challenging road, but she is so strong and an example of optimism!

I enjoyed a handful of bike rides with Zach.  I even completed the River Mountain Loop Trail several times.

League Champions!  They played together so well and had the best coach!
