Nyle's Birthday

A birthday tradition!

Some things we love about 9-year-old Nyle:

  • He is still so full of joy!  He's just so gregarious and welcoming to all.  Anytime any of the other boys, or Gwen even, has a friend over, Nyle will be happy to be the host.  He'll play with anyone who is there and make sure they are having a great time!  When I pick him up from school, there always seems to be someone calling out his name to say goodbye.  One time, on the way home from school, one of his fans called his name non-stop out of the window of her car as she drove by us on our bikes.  It was kind of like a siren: "NYLE, NYLE, NYLE, NYLE, NYLE..."
  • He's very strong and kinesthetic.  The other day, Zach witnessed him do 16 cartwheels in a row at the park.  He taught himself to do impressive-looking roundoff and likes to do all sorts of gymnastic stunts on the boy's pull-up bar.  However, when I recommend that he be put into a gymnastic class, he pouts and says he would rather do soccer, so I guess he's doing soccer next Fall.
  • He's a fast bike rider.  This entire year the boys have been riding their bikes to and from school--regardless of the weather!  Nyle is usually up in front, pumping those legs like a train!
  • He's a goal-setter and goal-getter.  Every week he has class goals to do several different things and every week, he conscientiously achieves those goals.
  • We sure love our fun-loving Nyle!
