I call him my little sunshine. He is such a happy-go-lucky kind of kid. He's also pretty independent and stubborn about sleep. Here are just a few of his 2-year-old antics.

| Wrestling--we see A LOT of this in our home and Nyle is never afraid to jump in WWF-style |
| I don't remember all the particulars, but I think it was something to the effect of, trying to get his own milk because Mommy was upstairs feeding baby West? I just remember coming down and finding this with the half-empty gallon of milk sitting nearby. I just sighed and thought-yep, that's Nyle. |
| We have a bit of a montage of pictures like this with Nyle falling asleep in some pretty cool poses. He's actually asleep here, while balancing on the chair. |
| poor nose |
| I suppose the wood is softer than tile? |
| He can sleep through quite a lot. |
| The best picture I took of his sleeping poses has been lost, but it was of him asleep sitting upright against one of those giant bouncy-ball toys that kids can hold onto and bounce around. I was pretty impressed with that one, since it required constant balance. |

| This gave me a huge scare. One day we had the window company come inspect our windows as we had a few that sustained damage during a hailstorm. The blinds had been pulled up and while I sat working with Ned in the loft, I heard the most stomach-turning scream I'd ever heard. I turned around to see Nyle dangling in the air with the blinds cord wrapped around his neck. He had been playing with the cords while standing on a chair and somehow gotten tangled in them when he slipped off the chair. I was literally just a step away from him and thank goodness I was. I quickly unwound him, then simultaneously chewed him out for playing with the cords and hugged the stuffing out of him. I try not to think what might have happened if I had happened to be downstairs at the moment that had happened. I just thank Heavenly Father, even to this day, for the miracle it was that I wasn't further away. Needless to say, The blinds are all down in our house so the cords remain high up out of reach. |
