Ned's middle school has soccer and even though there is only one team and Ned is only a 6th grader, he tried out and made it! He was the only 6th grader to make the team and while he was easily the smallest kid on the team, he got some good playing time and even made a goal on my birthday! It was so fun watching this team and they were undefeated until the championship games.

Nevada Reading Week was full of dress-up days. This was tourist day so we all wore our South Padre Island shirts

Mismatch day. Gwen picked out my outfit.

Spring Break fun- the boys made boats and Ned decided to make a car.
This year for Spring Break, I had each child choose a day and something they wanted to do on that day. Nyle chose making boats/cars with electric motors. Ned chose making foods like ice cream and sour patch grapes, Gwen chose painting, and West chose a family outing on his birthday. The weather was amazing! Cool and rainy many days- so unusual for here that we tried to soak it up as much as we could!

Gwen made a pie for pi day.

We learned how to paint with a YouTube painting tutorial.

Our baby gets baptized!
West was able to get baptized the day after his birthday. This made it so special! We had a lot of family out of town since it fell during Spring Break, but we decided to go for it anyway since it was during a break in work for me so I had more time to prepare for the baptism. It was very special, not a huge crowd, but very much focused on the ordinance. I'm so grateful we have the Priesthood restored so we can make those Covenants that bind us to our Father in Heaven!
West was so good to remind us to help him prepare for his baptism. With me working, I've been a bit more absent minded so it's so helpful to have a son who's an advocate for himself.
Some things we love about 8-year-old West:
- He is a very conscientious boy. He loves having a checklist of what he needs to do each day and is so good about completing his tasks. I rarely have to remind him to practice the piano, read, or do his homework. His teachers just love him for this!
- He loves his brothers and prefers to play with them over any other kid! I sometimes have to prod him to play with other boys.
- He is athletic and loves to play anything with balls or running involved. He's also really good at Ultimate Frisbee. We often play together with just our family on Sundays. Zach, myself and Nyle on a team (with Gwen too, when we can convince her to play). Lincoln, Ned and West on the other team. We call West velcro-hands because he can snatch the frisbee out of the air and it just seems to stick to his hands. He can toss a frisbee like a pro as well! The teams are pretty evenly matched.
- his brother Lincoln still adores him and often wants hugs from him. West is very patient with Lincoln's requests. He's just so adorable still!
