March 2025

While digging up a hole to plant a new lime tree, we found some chalking rocks that we decided to use to make some street decorations just before we knew they would be resurfacing the road.

West, Ned and Nyle taking a dip in the Logandale reservoir

We decided to spend a Saturday in Logandale before it got too hot.  We rode 4-wheelers and had fun at the reservoir

Nyle's chipped tooth got infected so it was time for a root canal and crown.

Pi Day traditions of quiche and pies.  Gwen made Key lime, I made banana cream and we also made pumpkin for the boys.

Dutch Ovens for our Anniversary!

West Turns 10!

Some things we love about 10-year-old West:
  • West has so much positive energy and he loves how active his 4th-grade teacher keeps him.  She does something called "Whole-brained teaching"  and it's very active.  It's perfect for West and he loves his class!
  • West is such a smarty!  He works so hard at all his school work, often bringing home a checklist of assignments that he "needs to work on".  Then, I find out from his teacher later on that that checklist was just for things that needed to be done during the week in class.  He's just super proactive and seems to enjoy learning! He also scored off the charts in his MAP testing, particularly in Math where he scored in the 99th percentile and scored higher than all of my 5th graders!
  • West is sweet.  He has such a soft heart and a warm smile. He attracts all sorts of students that want to be his friend.  Often, when I'm working in my classroom in the morning and he's reading beside me, another child of a teacher will come in and ask him if he wants to play with them and he's always willing to play with anyone.
  • West is an athlete.  He loves soccer and loves to run when he plays, which makes him so strong!  He'll play anything with a ball and loves to play with his brothers the most.
  • He's embracing his amazingly curly hair. He's decided he likes his curls and now doesn't want me to cut too much of them off.  I love it!
  • West is the Best! (as his Pre-K teacher's would say)
