15-year Anniversary! (A.K.A. Family Birthday)

Last year Zach and I had planned to visit Zion National Park for our Anniversary, then on our Anniversary, COVID-19 was announced as a world-wide Pandemic and we decided to post-pone our anniversary plans for a year.  This year rolls around and we decide it's safe to go for it!  Ironically, when we woke up on the day to leave, the weather was very reminiscent of our actual wedding day.  There was snow on the mountains all around.  The news casters were talking about how rare this was and that they couldn't ever remember a time when there was snow in the valley this late in the season.  I just chuckled and thought to myself, well, you don't remember 15 years ago when it snowed almost exactly on this date at my wedding!

Since Dallas and Tim celebrate their anniversary the day after ours, we swung a deal with them.  They came down and dropped their kids off with us and then stayed at a hotel on the strip.  Afterwards, they came over to our house and stayed with our kids so we could leave.  It was so nice to be able to have our kids spend time with their cousins.  It worked out so well for both of us!

We had plans to play golf in Hurricane on our way to the hotel in Springdale, but it was snowing in St. George when we arrived so we decided not to golf.  Even though it was a bit chilly, it was absolutely gorgeous in Springdale.  We bundled up and went for several walks just to enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Enjoying some Nielsen's on the way up to our Anniversary Get-Away

We thought this driftwood horse was pretty cool!
I made this scrambled birthday cake to celebrate our birthday.  It doesn't look pretty, but it tasted pretty good!
