October 2020: Home Improvements and Halloween

Zach had the itch to get to work on another project.  This time: the Kitchen!  We put in some beams on the ceiling, a new hood over the range and some pendant lights.  There's much more we could do, but after we finished that, we decided it would be a good place to pause for a little while.

Ned received a nasty gash in his knee while trying to run around from Lincoln one day.  He ran into a while hit it just right to slice it open.  We superglued it shut, but probably should have taken him to get stitches instead.  Poor guy had to sit out of two soccer games as we were afraid he would split it open.  He was very careful and wouldn't bend his knee for about 2 weeks after this just to make sure it had healed.

For Jackson's birthday, he only wanted to be able to have a large Nerf Gun war with his cousins so we all met at Hemenway Park in BC to do just that.  We borrowed some Nerf Guns from our friends, the Franks.  Jamie provided the ammunition and we let the kids go at it, while we enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake Mead at sunset.

Gwen is such a great entertainer.  One Sunday afternoon, she mesmerized her brothers with a conversation between Lincoln and "Snowflake" or maybe it's "Rainbow".  She has a knack for being the voice and personality for several of her stuffed animals.  All 4 of her brothers find it very entertaining and will usually just appear to watch whenever and wherever she begins speaking for one of the stuffed animals.

This Fall, Zach decided to coach Lincoln's team.  It was co-ed team and they were a bit unruly to begin with.  Zach was able to bring them together and really train them into a cohesive team.  They worked hard and were even able to make it to the final tournament.  I was so impressed with his ability to really train and whip these kids into shape!  Lincoln was one of the best players, even though he was the youngest.  Mostly because he was fast and very scrappy.  He could race across the field pretty quickly and was able to handle the ball pretty well.

Halloween this year: Left to Right- Emma as a Fox, Ned as a cowboy, West as a vampire, Gwen as a bunny, Nyle as a cowboy.  Lincoln was off with friends.

This year, Halloween was a little different due to COVID.  Our neighborhood was able to put together a socially-distanced way to trick-or-treat.  They set up tables around the golf-course path and we were able to walk the path to trick-or-treat.
