Ned' Birthday came at the end of a busy month! But by then we knew just what to get Ned for his birthday-- Pickleball Paddles and balls. All these boys just love moving and using their bodies, especially if balls are involved. We began using them right away. Ned has also learned to request cinnamon rolls for his birthday dessert. Again, these kids aren't really into birthday cakes at all, which I am totally fine with.
Some things we love about 10 year old Ned:
- Ned continues to be so responsible and dependable. He's such a great older brother to Nyle and West. He'll often ride his bike with them up to our friend's in the neighborhood and he's so good to stay with West when I have to stay back to teach piano lessons. I always know West and Nyle will be ok if Ned goes with them. He keeps track of the time and gets them home in time for dinner. Nyle and West just adore Ned because he is so kind to them, he's a natural leader.
- Ned's teacher adores him, of course! He's so kind and respectful to her and always engaged. He remembers to get all of his weekly goals done. He's really just a model student, even in this virtual school world!
- Ned is so strong! He does 3 sets of 50 push-ups daily. Zach is always bragging about him to anyone who will listen and Ned has had to show-off his push-up skills a number of times for guests. Once at his activity-days activity, his leaders had planned a day to focus on fitness. They had the kids do several fitness tests and then one of the leaders issued a challenge. He offered 5 Gatorades to any kid that could do 75 push-ups. Boy, was he surprised when Ned hopped down and was able to knock those out right in front of him. He had to pay-up--which he did right then and there.
- We love our sweet, responsible Ned!
